Join us for what promises to be a fiery, unforgettable farewell tour!
A personal note from the six of us:
From the very beginning, the Hexagon Ensemble has stood for inspired music-making. That was our dream, and it was for that purpose that we founded the ensemble: six instrumentalists capable of creating thousands of sound combinations. Always in search of quality and nuance within the richness of instrumental colors, we pursued excellence and adventurousness.
Our surprising repertoire choices and close-knit ensemble playing resulted in captivating concerts that reached a large and enthusiastic audience. We performed in churches, concert halls, theaters, on radio and TV, outdoors, at festivals, both at home and abroad, reaching more than 300,000 people. We played masterpieces, lesser-known works, arrangements, and compositions by young composers, recorded CDs, and collaborated with top soloists.
All the masterpieces we have played and continue to play are immortal and live in our hearts. But in July 2027, we will gladly pass them on to the next generation of chamber musicians.
Get ready to be inspired! Here are the four extraordinary programs the Hexagon Ensemble will bring to life in the 2026-2027 season
Sweet Memories
Of course, we love all the music we play. But in the program Sweet Memories, we show our true colors. Each member of the ensemble has an absolute favorite. The musicians of the Hexagon Ensemble look back on 36 years of making music.
Una Donna
The program Una Donna generously showcases the immense talent of Ekaterina Levental, a soprano who masters a wide variety of musical styles. Before the intermission, she shines in impressionistic songs, and in the second half of the concert, she delves into opera, revealing both her dramatic and virtuosic abilities. With her charisma and total dedication to the music, she is a welcome and frequently returning guest at the Hexagon Ensemble.
Meerkind
Meerkind is our new and final family performance. Set to the music of Grieg’s Peer Gynt, the show tells the story of a growing girl (a female ‘Peer’ this time) named Jule, who learns, through trial and error, to find her own path.
Christmas and New Year 2026-2027
A Christmas concert is a Christmas concert: every piece on the program must radiate warmth and have an immediate impact on the audience. This is sure to succeed with the Hexagon Ensemble’s highly accessible and festive Christmas program, which, of course, includes music from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker – the quintessential Christmas music.
