Arno van Houtert (clarinet) Print E-mail

Arno van Houtert studied clarinet at the Brabants Conservatory of Tilburg with Huib Steenwijk, where he received his B-diploma. He continued his studies at the same institute with Walter Boeykens. In 1983, he graduated with distinction as a performing musician.

Van Houtert works as a clarinettist in the Brabants Orkest since 1979. Since 1997, he is their solo clarinettist. He also performs as a soloist with this orchestra. In this role, he played the world premiere of Henk Badings’ Tripelconcert in 1985, Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante and the solo part in Mozart’s clarinet concerto. Recently, Van Houtert played the Five Dances Preludes by Lutoslavski with orchestra and soloed in the Duet Concertino for clarinet and bassoon by Richard Strauss.

Arno van Houtert is part of the Hexagon Ensemble since 1992.
